Role Description The Technical Sales Representative is a full-time hybrid role based in Montreal, QC, with the flexibility to work from home part of the time. In this role, the representative will manage and grow a portfolio of rail industry clients, identify customer needs, and recommend appropriate technical solutions and products. Day-to-day responsibilities include responding to inquiries, preparing quotes, conducting product demonstrations, and providing guidance on freight car and locomotive components. The role also involves coordinating with the technical team, following up on orders and deliveries, maintaining accurate sales records, and contributing to customer training and education. The Technical Sales Representative will be expected to build long-term relationships, meet sales targets, and uphold the company’s reputation for fast, knowledgeable service. Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Technical Sales and Sales skills, including experience presenting and positioning technical products or solutions. Candidates should possess excellent Customer Service skills with a focus on responsiveness, follow-through, and problem resolution. Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with customers and internal teams. Candidates should possess Training and product demonstration abilities to help customers understand proper use and application of solutions. Familiarity with rail industry equipment, freight cars, or locomotives is highly beneficial. Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, manage time independently, and travel to customer sites as needed. Proficiency with CRM tools and basic office software for managing accounts, quotes, and documentation. Post-secondary education in engineering, technology, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in a technical or industrial sales role.
