Job summary
Job Summary The Designer & Sales Consultant is the first point of contact for retail and commercial clients (in person and virtually) and is responsible for driving revenue through consultative sales and cabinetry design. This role requires prior cabinetry / made-to-order kitchen design experience. You will translate client needs into functional designs using Merit cabinetry, and prepare detailed plans, renderings, quotes, and project documentation from initial concept through order and installation support. Key Responsibilities Consult with homeowners, builders, and walk-in clients to generate and close new business. Gather project requirements (scope, layout, finishes, style, budget, timelines). Produce cabinetry designs and revisions using 2020 Design (or similar). Prepare accurate quotes, plans, renderings, and contract/order documentation. Present designs and pricing, handle objections, and close sales professionally. Conduct/coordinate site measures and support installation planning as required. Maintain CRM activity and follow-up on all leads and opportunities. Meet monthly/quarterly sales targets and maintain strong customer experience. Support showroom standards (presentation, displays, product knowledge sessions) Qualifications 3+ years of cabinetry / made-to-order kitchen design experience (required). 3+ years in a design-and-sales role within cabinetry, kitchen design, millwork, or a closely related industry. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and 2020 Design (or comparable software). NKBA standards knowledge. Strong knowledge of cabinetry products, ordering processes, and accuracy requirements. Excellent communication, organization, and follow-through; detail-oriented with quotes and documentation. Valid driver’s license and vehicle; able to attend site visits (car allowance provided). Availability to work Saturdays. Compensation & Benefits Base Salary: $50,000 CAD annually, plus performance-based incentive compensation tied to showroom sales targets.
