To thrive as a Regional Sales Manager is to lead a team within a defined geographic region to achieve incremental sales targets and increase market penetration. This role helps drive the growth of our business by developing and leading a highly engaged sales team. Responsibility includes managing the assigned region’s revenue, market share, staffing, expenses & profitability. This role is accountable for supporting and accomplishing the corporate objectives by directing and coordinating the activities of the sales team’s values, strategies, and objectives, including the team’s development of strategic partnerships with store management personnel. What We’re Looking For: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop a sales team of 12–20 representatives covering a specific region to meet business targets. Experience delivering sales strategies, market penetration initiatives, and region-specific growth plans while building strong customer relationships. Skilled in analyzing sales performance against defined metrics, forecasting regional trends, and recommending strategic improvements. Strong background in hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and retaining top sales talent with a focus on continuous improvement. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience in the industry; coatings industry background preferred. Demonstrated expertise in budgeting, financial analysis, cost control, and CRM systems to drive data-informed decisions. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with a track record of building collaborative partnerships across teams. Willingness to travel up to 50% (including overnight), work flexible shifts including weekends/holidays, and meet company motor vehicle policy requirements. Commitment to lean thinking, continuous improvement processes, and adherence to Behr’s Strategic Deployment Plan. Ability to meet physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and CRM database management.
