Our client is a fully integrated, independent Canadian soybean company. Proprietary genetics of their value-add food grade soybean varieties are developed locally, grown across the country, and exported globally to food manufacturers. Operating in Western Ontario, the Territory Sales Representative will manage the growth and development of grower accounts by securing contracts, selling seed, and supporting the farm gate. Maintain an optimal balance between servicing existing growers and cultivating new opportunities with prospective producers in the region by facilitating high value and profitable production systems. Reporting to the National Sales Manager, you will: Facilitate seed sales and contract food grade soybean production acres to meet annual regional volume objectives by variety. Serve as the primary company contact for growers in the region, building relationships directly with current, prospective, and lapsed growers while supporting dealer representatives. Develop and execute regional business and sales plans aligned with the company’s long-term objectives, including prospecting, relationship building, grower segmentation and qualification. Demonstrate a strong understanding of the economics and value proposition of a closed-loop, food grade soybean production to individual grower operations and opportunities. Complete accurate and timely sales administration, including traceability requirements, production contracts, field maps, crop reports, and grower records using the company’s sales and inventory management systems. Provide input on pricing, programming, products, resources, customer experience and brand perception, leveraging farm-gate relationships and market intelligence to continuously improve sales processes and grower engagement. Represent and grow brand awareness at industry and grower events, including conferences, farm shows, soil and crop meetings, dealer and retail events, customer events, crop tours, field days and product training. Plan and execute grower-focused events within the territory and support broader marketing initiatives including product launches, dealer meetings, customer appreciation events, trade shows, field tours and virtual events. Establish and support demonstration sites, on-farm plots and field initiatives, meeting annual plot objectives by variety to generate relevant performance data and increase product exposure. Support the development of sales and marketing content through field photography, video, drone footage, and other grower and product-focused content for use across promotional platforms. Take responsibility for crop reporting, field visits and other activities required to support the company’s management, finance and export sales teams serving end-use customers. Gather market intelligence and grower feedback to provide input on product positioning, business development opportunities and strategic planning in collaboration with colleagues across Canada. Your background includes: A Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, (Agri)Business or a related field preferred. A combination of relevant work experience and continued professional development will also be considered. Knowledge of Ontario crop production systems and processing, with a focus on soybeans. A self-starter attitude with the drive and motivation to develop grower relationships and create new business opportunities. Strong business acumen, communication skills, relationship-building and networking abilities. Proven sales and account management success with the ability to prospect, develop opportunities and close business. The ability to communicate the economic and production value of crop programs to growers at the farm level. A detail-oriented approach paired with the ability to manage multiple priorities, administrative requirements and deadlines. Proficiency with computer programs, CRM/business systems and technology (e.g., Microsoft Office and SAP). This is a work from home opportunity with travel primarily within Ontario, and elsewhere in Canada as required. Requirements
Requires a degree or diploma in Agriculture or Agribusiness, or equivalent professional experience, with a strong understanding of Ontario crop production. Candidates must possess proven sales success, strong business acumen, and proficiency in CRM and SAP systems.
