Role Description The Business Development & Operations Intern — Engineering & Construction will support growth and operational efficiency for KMG Civil Engineering Inc. in a remote, contract capacity. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting with lead generation, tracking prospects, and organizing CRM or pipeline data for engineering and construction projects. The intern will help conduct market research on target customer segments such as contractors, developers, solar/EV firms, and property managers, and prepare summary reports or presentations. Additional tasks may involve supporting proposal and quotation preparation, coordinating with internal engineering and design team members, and providing responsive communication to prospective and existing clients. The role also includes general operational support such as documenting processes, updating project status records, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications Strong analytical skills to interpret market data, project information, and business performance metrics. Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, partners, and internal teams in a clear, professional manner. Lead generation skills, including prospect identification, outreach support, and pipeline tracking. Market research skills to gather, organize, and present insights on target industries and customer segments. Customer service skills to support a positive client experience through timely, courteous, and solution-oriented responses. Interest or coursework in civil engineering, construction management, business, or a related field. Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple tasks. Proficiency with common productivity tools (e.g., spreadsheets, presentation software, CRM or database tools is an asset). Familiarity with engineering, construction, or renewable energy sectors is an advantage but not mandatory.
