About sdsLite sdsLite is Hypertrain's chemical safety management platform built for the modern workplace. It gives teams instant access to trusted Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and a real-time view of hazardous material inventory across every location and storage area, so compliance stays simple and nothing falls through the cracks. We're growing fast and looking for our first BDR to help us bring sdsLite to the mid-market companies that need it most. The Role This is a ground-floor opportunity. As Hypertrain's first Business Development Representative, you won't be stepping into a playbook, you'll be helping write it. You'll own the top of our sales funnel, identifying and engaging mid-market prospects, sparking conversations, and booking qualified meetings for the Account Executive team. You'll be the first voice many customers ever hear from Hypertrain. That matters to us, and it should matter to you. What You'll Do Build and manage a targeted outbound pipeline of mid-market accounts across key verticals (manufacturing, logistics, facilities management, healthcare, and beyond) Research prospects and craft personalized outreach via cold email, LinkedIn, and phone to connect with EHS managers, operations leads, and procurement decision-makers Qualify prospects through discovery conversations and pass warm, well-prepped opportunities to the Account Executive team Maintain clean, accurate records in our CRM (we use Hubspot) — every touchpoint logged, every follow-up scheduled Collaborate closely with marketing and leadership to sharpen messaging, surface objections, and identify what's resonating in the market Hit (and ideally beat) weekly and monthly activity and pipeline targets Domestic and International travel up to 25% What We're Looking For 1–2+ years of outbound sales or BDR experience, ideally in B2B SaaS, though we're open to hungry candidates with less experience and a track record of figuring things out University or College degree, ideally in Business or Science A natural communicator who can tailor a message to an EHS coordinator the same way they'd tailor it to a VP of Operations Comfortable with rejection and genuinely energized by the chase Organized, self-directed, and able to manage a high volume of outreach without dropping balls Curious about the product. Chemical safety and compliance aren't glamorous, but the problems are real and the stakes are high for our customers Bonus: familiarity with safety data sheets, EHS compliance, or industrial/chemical environments What You'll Get A seat at the table from day one. Your feedback will shape how we support our customers. Direct access to leadership and a fast path to Account Executive for top performers Competitive base salary + uncapped commission Health benefits including prescription drugs, paramedical services, mental health therapists, vision care, dental care and more. Hybrid flexibility — work from our Hamilton, Ontario office [4 days/week] Your birthday off! Salary Range: CAD 50,000 – 55,000 Why This Role, Why Now Most BDR jobs hand you a script and a Salesforce queue. This one asks you to think. sdsLite is solving a problem that thousands of mid-market companies deal with every day: messy SDS binders, missing inventory counts, compliance gaps they can't afford. You'll be selling something people actually need, and you'll have real ownership over how we go to market. If you're looking for your first step into a closing role, or you want to be the person who helped build something from the ground up, this is it.
