The Chief Digital Transformation Office (CDTO) offers an opportunity to shape and drive VMware’s Digital Transformation to enable Operations to scale and support VMware’s growth.

We are part of the Go-to-market, Customer, and Analytics (GCA) engineering team responsible for accelerating the digital transformation of VMware’s GTM, Customer experience businesses by providing technical leadership to implement scalable technical solutions for critical business initiatives.

We are on an initiative to help expand VMware’s GTM business by providing appropriate tools to lay the foundation for Software as a Service (SAAS) offerings, thereby improving the business process efficiency and effectiveness.

As part of the Engineering team, you will get an opportunity to work on an enterprise-class, modern application ecosystem to apply your knowledge and explore new functional/technical domains.

What is the primary need, technical challenge, and/or problem you will be responsible for?

As a Salesforce developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing applications primarily on the sales cloud platform for quoting and sales management. You will partner with the technical leads and product owners to design and build the solution.

You will work closely with fellow Salesforce.com developers, build High/Low-level designs, and perform peer code reviews. You may also build interfaces in salesforce for integration with the product data hub, EBS, SAP, and downstream order management systems.

You will be part of the Go-to-market, Customer, and Analytics (GCA) team, Headed by Prasanna Deshmukh, within VMware IT., with access to all the leaders and their teams. We expect you to take advantage of this diverse work culture to develop yourself into a senior technical member who will execute future state technical vision with end-to-end ownership.

Job Duties

  • Implement technical solutions using industry best practices
  • Contribute to developing product vision for the custom CPQ implementation on force.com
  • Responsible for ensuring the right level of non-functional needs such as quality, scalability, performance, flexibility, modularity, maintainability etc.
  • Develop prototypes for new foundational product capabilities.
  • Research force.com capabilities, new features as needed to suit business requirements
  • Review and analyze business requirements and provide feedback to product owners in line with the product vision.
  • Document design and work with the Salesforce developers, integration teams, and downstream system teams to implement technical solution
  • Prepare technical specifications and detailed design documents and develop test cases.
  • Partner closely with the QA team during the build, test and UAT cycle to ensure build quality.
  • Follow SDLC processes and tools, Iterative Design & Prototyping (Agile)
  • Work with Salesforce platform features
  • Collaborate with DevOps and the release management team to promote the build to production.
  • Post-production support.

Required Qualifications 

  • Experience in Configure, Price Quote, and Billing processes, including enhanced Price Catalog & price book, Advance approvals, and Order management, Invoicing, Contracts and Revenue reporting.
  • Having a toolkit development that includes APEX, LWC, Visual Force, Batch Apex, Aura, Platform Events, CDC, SOQL, and .com, and integrations.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Salesforce CPQ/Billing with 4+ years end-to-end implementation in Salesforce
  • Good knowledge of all functional processes related to CPQ/Billing and platform capabilities
  • Demonstrated experience in translating customer business requirements into workable business solutions, preferably on SaaS.
  • Salesforce Certified Administrator, Application Architect, Platform Developer I certification preferred.
  • Proficient in HTML, CSS and JavaScript

  Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (Canadian or foreign equivalent) degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related technical/quantitative field and ten (10) years of experience in the job offered or related position
