Clarion Hotel & Conference Centre located at 900 Pembroke St E, Pembroke, Ontario urgently require a BUSINESS GENERAL MANAGER who will be responsible for all aspects of the hotel's operations including daily operations, administrative functions, business development and finances. You must have the ability to coordinate, plan and make decisions that are in the best interests of the company. You will be required to act independently, provide leadership and strategic planning to all departments and use your experience to take on new challenges and drive the business forward.

As a General Manager you will be responsible for the following job duties:

  • Oversee daily business operations;
  • Execute marketing activities in accordance with the hotel's business plans &; actively participate in the sales process;
  • Ensure full compliance to hotel operating controls, SOP's, procedures and service standards;
  • Prepare financial reports that clearly explain the operational effectiveness, trends and variances;
  • Initiate cost effective controls and revenue management techniques;
  • Ensure that the hotel is run according to the established quality and standards of service;
  • Participate & maintain active community relations and involvement;
  • Lead in all aspects of business planning, client handling and client acquisition;
  • Design strategies to create an environment that ensure complete guest satisfaction;
  • Ensure employee motivation, training & development, wage & benefits administration and compliance with established labour regulations;
  • Ensure that the hotel is operated in compliance with all applicable laws, regulations & requirements of federal & provincial authorities;
  • Participate in the development & execution of the annual business & marketing plan;
  • Develop short & long term plans that will have a positive impact on the business;
  • Create and manage budgets and ensure all expenditures are controlled within monthly and annual budget guidelines;
  • Engage and approve promotional campaigns especially digital media;
  • Define and implement policies and performance standards;
  • Develop marketing strategies and work in conjunction with sales to increase revenue and profits;
  • Evaluate and improve the overall operations and financial performance of the business;

Job Type: Permanent, full time position;

Salary: $49 per hour for a minimum of 30 hours per week;

Experience: 5 years industry experience;

Education: Bachelor's degree;

Language Requirement: Fluency in spoken & written English;
