The main focus for this individual will be to develop new business along with upselling through the existing client base within this new business segment. These shipments will consist of LTL, FTL shipments to/from USA & Canada and Mexico.

The individual will report directly to the owners of the company and will be a valuable resource in the start up and continuous goal of building and developing this exciting business segment.  This is an excellent opportunity for the goal oriented, entrepreneur type to grow & develop this division.


The successful individual will:

¨      Grow new business along with upselling through the existing client base

¨      Develop LTL, FTL shipments to/from USA & Canada and Mexico.

¨      Create a 1-3 year strategy to target specific markets to increase the customer base as well as increase share of wallet with existing clients

¨      Establish and/or negotiate rates with carriers covering all modes of transportation

¨      Growing and maintaining relationships with carriers, agents and clients

¨      Plan loads logistically while thinking outside the box for complex shipments as well as regular lanes

¨      Be accountable for customer satisfaction and provide high quality service and work ethic while representing the company

¨      Perform other related duties or projects as required to meet the needs of the business


¨      Post Secondary Education an asset; CIFFA or equivalent diploma designation related to this position an asset

¨      5 years' minimum experience in Transborder; experience in similar position an asset

¨      Well versed in all types of Transborder shipments with good communication skills & familiarity with all the processes

¨      Proven track record of developing a Transborder division in the past

¨      Strong knowledge of equipment, lanes, customs, shipping documents and verifications.

¨      Knowledge of Customs regulations and policies, freight forwarding, international and domestic transportation

¨      Must be service oriented and willing to work afterhours if required
