The Technical Sales Consultant will be joining a dynamic team of individuals with a passion for business development for cutting edge technology. This role involves developing key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans, achieving annual targets, building & maintaining relationships and understanding customer needs. Key to this is having the ability to break down technical terminology to non-technical clients and have a solid record of consistently exceeding your targets and objectives.

This is a unique role with a mix of office work and in-person demos with clients throughout Canada so an interest and ability to participate in intermittent travel is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development
  • Prospect for new clients and turn this into increased business with a robust pipeline of opportunities to drive growth
  • Identify potential clients with whom we have no recent engagements and the decision makers within the client company
  • Lead negotiations, coordinate complex decision making with management and overcome objections to close deals
  • Achieve annual goals and sales targets
  • Prospect, qualify, consult and sell our enterprise UAV offerings
  • Identify adjacent verticals and industries to expand into
  • Maintain high-level knowledge regarding products, services, and competitors
 
Market Strategy
  • Develop and execute strategy for key prospects
  • Track existing client base for new opportunities
 
Public Relations
  • Represent the company at key industry and client events, build and maintain the necessary contacts to keep current on emerging issues of significance
  • Attend industry functions such as network events, conferences and trade shows, and provide feedback and information on market trends
  • Coordinate and participate in promotional activities and trade shows to market services to prospective clients
 
Client Relationship Management
  • Build and nurture client relationships to identify business opportunities
  •  Maintain strong relationships with existing client base
  • Maintain CRM database
  • Provide accurate, timely reports, and forecasts on a weekly and monthly basis; ensure CRM pipeline is current
  • Identify and promote upselling opportunities to existing client base
 

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of demonstrated achievement in technology B2B sales, with progressively increased responsibility and business development experience.
  • Experience as both a new business developer and relationship manager is required, including growing and managing a portfolio of clients and delivering exceptional client service
  • Enterprise business and market development expertise with an understanding of business model development and partnership strategy
  • Previous experience in technical sales/technical customer support role preferred
 

Skills and Competencies

  • Experience with flying drones and background in UAV is preferred
  • Highly motivated self-starter who works independently, and is also team oriented
  • Good ability to shift focus between changing priorities
  • Strong initiative and ability to manage time and projects independently
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are required
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills required
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to client service
  • Forward thinker comfortable in exploring creative solutions
  • Strong technical/mechanical aptitude
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite and learning new software
 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times
  • Ability to travel as required
