Summary of Responsibilities:
Reports to the Regional Director of Public Relations (RDPR) while working closely with the Director of Sales & Marketing at The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge to align PR strategies in order to stimulate and support sales initiatives. Responsibilities and essential job functions which include but are not limited to the following:
Responsible for the on property coordination of all travel media visits, including follow up after visit to provide additional information as needed
Host travel media on property evenings and weekends as required
Manage regional media inquiries and interview requests
Provide public relations support for all on property special event activations - including execution of relevant special event media launches
Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within business and industry media
Provide produced earned media publications to social team for distribution across social media channels
Create and distribute press releases as needed
Coordinate photo and film shoots on site with commercial and traditional media when necessary
Respond to requests for information from Corporate HQ PR team as it pertains to property
Active participate in social media committees and interact with media guests via social media streams throughout the course of their visit
Update CWMR Media Calendar with property visits
Respond to last-minute information requests from media who are on property
Oversee the maintenance of regional media lists
Update and maintain materials for Media Kit and story starters
Provides crisis communications support to the RDPR as needed
Lead the production of in-house produced content, following the content marketing schedule in conjunction with Marketing Manager
3-5 years’ experience within public relations required
Working knowledge of social media platforms (twitter; Facebook; yelp; etc)
Ability to prioritize and work on a number of projects with competing deadlines
Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications required
University / College degree in a related discipline required
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal required
Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
Highly responsible & reliable
Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
